Introductory Statement
D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd is committed to providing a work environment that is safe and healthy.
D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd acknowledges that under occupational health and safety legislation, it has the following duties:
- Duties as an employer;
- Duties as an occupier of workplaces;
- Duties to the public at large.
Duties of D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd as an Employer D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd has the following two types of employees:
- Permanent employees who work for D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd ("permanent employees").
- Temporary employees who are on-hired by D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd to clients ("temporary employees") or to D
& C Building Careers Pty Ltd premises.
D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd is committed to providing both its permanent employees and its temporary employees with work
environments that are safe and without risk to health.
D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd strives to achieve this commitment by, so far as practicable:

Providing and maintaining plant and systems of work that are safe and without risk to health;

Making arrangements for ensuring safety and absence of risk to health in connection with the use, handling storage
and transport of plant and substances;

Maintaining any workplace under the control and management of D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd in a condition that is safe and without risks to health;

Providing adequate facilities for the welfare of employees at any workplace under the control and management of D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd;

Providing such information, instruction, training and supervision to employees as necessary to enable the employees to perform their work in a manner that is safe and without risks to health; and
-
Monitoring the health and safety, and keeping information and records relating to the health and safety of the employees of D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd.
Temporary Employees
Occupational health and safety legislation deems clients who engage the services of temporary employees, to be employers of
the temporary employees in relation to matters over which they have control. Therefore, these clients have a duty to ensure that
temporary employees of D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd are healthy and safe when in their workplace.
However, the duty on these clients to ensure the health and safety of temporary employees does not negate any duties owed to
the temporary employees by D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd. To ensure that D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd can comply with its
occupational health and safety duties as an employer of temporary employees, D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd adopts the
following procedures when placing a temporary employee with a client:
- Ensure the training, skills and experience of the temporary employee are verified and match the needs of the work to be completed by the temporary employee for the client;
- D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd Client Occupational Health & Safety Co-ordinator in consultation with the D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd consultant and the client will ensure, that a thorough identification and assessment of all the risks associated with the work to be completed by the temporary employee for the client, is conducted before work commences;
- Ensure any potential risks in the client's work environment are controlled as far as practicable before the temporary employee commences work;
- Ensure the level of supervision provided to the temporary employee by D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd and the client is ensure adequate for the work to be performed by the temporary employee;
- Ensure that the temporary employee has the opportunity to consult and be consulted by D & C Building Careers Pty Ltd and the client; and
- That the temporary employee knows what to do when health and safety issues arise in the client's workplace.
